Our Residents

David Miller, MD

A native of Wallaceburg Ontario, David graduated with highest honors from Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica, West Indies after completing his clinical rotations in New York City. Prior to entering medical school, he graduated with Bachelors and Master's degrees in Chemistry from the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario, Canada and worked as a university based research scientist. Outside of medicine, he enjoys boating with family on Lake St. Clair, cooking and working on his golf game.

Jason Beatty, DO

Jason was born and raised in New Brunswick, Canada until the age of 17 when he left home and came to the US in search of a chance at a better life. He attended Michigan State University for undergraduate education and Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine for his medical degree. HeI is married to a fellow family medicine physician, Dr. Jessica Glenn-Beatty and has two fantastic boys, Brayden and Gage as well as a new baby girl, Brynn-Rose. He loves spending time with the family and is an avid SCUBA diver. His ultimate goal is to devote his career to an underserved area of Michigan, helping those less fortunate than himself.

Jessica Glenn-Beatty

Jessica was born and raised in Michigan. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Michigan State University in Psychology with a Specialization in Bioethics, Humanities, and Society. She was accepted to the MSU Medical Scholars program and participated in activities that taught social responsibility, health care equality, professional service, and compassion. At MSU she studied abroad in London focusing on the history of health care and medical ethics, which is where her interest in health care disparities and global health began. After her first year of medical school she traveled to Uganda with the Uganda Village Project to be part of a multidisciplinary team researching HIV/AIDS in a small village. While she was in Uganda she developed a relationship with an orphanage and was involved in fundraising for their organization. In 2008 she was selected to be one of the 08/09 AMSA Global Health Scholars. Jessica has also been involved in a wide variety of research projects from preventative medicine to diabetes to sea lamprey pheromones. She has had one publication and presented her most recent research at a 2009 research forum. She was recently married to Dr. Jason Beatty and enjoys spending time with her new family including 2 stepsons. Hobbies include spending time outside, swimming, yoga, reading, playing with her dogs, cooking, kayaking, and snowboarding.

Clint Bernhard, MD

Clint came to Howell after graduating from The University of Toledo College of Medicine. He loves his wife and and daughters and is blessed to have family that is near. He enjoys playing basketball, airsoft, playing the piano and baking pie.

Judy Indrakumaran, MD

Judy was born in Sri Lanka, spent her childhood years in India and South Africa, her teenage years in Toronto, Canada. She completed premed and medical school at Medical University of Silesia in Poland, after which she went on to do my medical rotations in New York & Tennessee, which brought her to Michigan for Residency. Having had the opportunity to live in different places has made her appreciate the many cultures and the individuality of each person. If further enhanced her interest in medicine for that sherealized medicine is a universal language. Her interests include traveling, eating dessert, watching movies (her favorite being The Godfather), swimming and any outdoor activities such as camping and biking.

Inderpreet Rathore, MD

Inderpreet completed medical school at Windsor University, Saint Kitts and Nevis.

Esteban Gonzalez, MD

Esteban completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at El Paso and graduated from the University of Texas Medical Branch School of Medicine at Galveston.

Veena Kutty, MD

Veena completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Maryland and graduated from Boston University School of Medicine. She has completed a Transitional Year of Residency at the University of Maryland, Baltimore.

Zachary Engelbert, DO

Zachary completed his undergraduate studies at Western State College, Gunnison, Colorado and graduated from Des Moines University – Osteopathic Medical Center.

Michael Mitry, MD

Michael completed his undergraduate studies and Wayne State University and graduated from Wayne State University School of Medicine. He has complete two years of Preliminary Surgery Residency at Wayne State University.

Emily Gabbeart, MD

Emily completed her undergraduate studies at Northern Michigan University and obtained a M.S. at Wayne State University School of Medicine before graduating from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine.

Balal Hussain, MD

Balal completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario, Canada. He graduated from Texas Chiropractic College in Pasadena, Texas and Medical University of the Americas (Nevis) M.D.

Christine Brooks, DO

Christine completed her undergraduate studies at Villanova University and graduated from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed a Traditional Internship at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland before joining the Family Practice Residency.

Alex received an undergraduate degree from University of Wisconsin-Madison and received his MD from Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine & Science. He conducted research at the University of Illinois-Chicago prior to joining the Family Medicine Residency.

June completed her Bachelor's degree at University of California, Berkeley and her Doctor of Medicine degree at Rush Medical College.

Michael Martone, MD

Michael Martone, MD completed his undergraduate degree at Bowling Green State University, his Masters of Science at Case Western Reserve University and his Medical Degree at Rush Medical College.

Erica completed her undergraduate degree at Springhill College and medical degree from University of South Alabama College of Medicine.

Heather obtained a B.A. from Albion College and her M.D. from Wayne State University School of Medicine.

Puja pursued both a Bachelor's and Master's degree from Wayne State University. She obtained her Doctor of Medicine degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine.
