Thomas Longley, MD

Tom has gone about his life in the non-traditional way and it has worked out well so far. He met the love of his life in high school and they were married shortly afterwards. They had their eldest daughter when they were quite young and then spent time going back to school to help support her. He completed his undergrad at the University of Illinois at Chicago with his major in Clinical Laboratory Science.  Tom was working full time on the night shift at a community hospital laboratory while he was completing his degree. After he finished he would work as the Evening/Night shift supervisor at that lab for about 5 years before going to medical school. He earned his MD and MPH from the University of Iowa. During that time Tom and his wife had their two youngest daughters. In Iowa between having a community garden plot, going to a local co-op, and obtaining his MPH, he became interested in nutrition and Integrative Medicine, two topics not really taught in traditional allopathic medical school. Tom also became interested in Health Economics and Health Policy.  He hopes to combine these interests as he heads to Santa Fe, NM, to begin his medical practice.
